Intro to Hockey

INTRO TO HOCKEY (formerly known as Learn to Skate)

Is Your Child Interested in playing Hockey? If so, we have just the program for you.  It's our INTRO TO HOCKEY program, a learn to skate program for Boys & Girls who want to develop the skating skills to give hockey a try.  The focus is on FUN while teaching basic hockey skating skills.

Summer Intro to hockey program

Our Summer Introduction to Hockey program is gearing up for action.  Practices will be 5:15 pm to 6:00 pm every Wednesday, running from June 19th through August 28th.  Please note: there will be no practice on Wednesday, July 3rd.

Cost for registration will be $100 for 10 practices.    

Our program has now started but we might still have room for new skaters during the season, so please feel free to use the contact button on the bottom of this page if you are  still interested in signing up

ELIGIBILITY

Introduction to Hockey is intended for first-time or younger skaters aged 3-8 years old who have an interest in getting started in hockey.  Kids less than 10 years old are welcome to join the program, but should be aware the average age of participants is around 6 years old.  The program is not restricted to any youth hockey district , but participants must be aware that participation in the Introduction to hockey program does not provide eligibility to the McFarland youth hockey district 

COST INCLUDES

Registration fee for the Summer session will be $100 for ten 45 minute sessions

Equipment and skate rental is included in the cost (security deposit required for equipment rental)
 

SCHEDULE AND LOCATION

Classes will be taking place at the McFarland Community Ice Arena. Kids will be divided up into groups based on the general skill level of the skaters. Classes will start on June 19th and will meet once a week on Wednesdays (Excluding July 3rd)

INTRO TO HOCKEY EQUIPMENT

All Skaters are eligible to receive a full set of rental equipment, excluding skates, for the duration of the session.  A $50 security deposit will be due when picking up the equipment.  Skates can be borrowed from the skate rental before each lesson but must also be returned at the end of each lesson
